Featured Project
A walled courtyard of aged brick and reclaimed stone, anchored by a sculptural lava water wall and an intimate dining terrace.
Tucked behind a heritage brick wall, this courtyard is a study in texture and stillness. Reclaimed York stone and pea gravel set a soft, weathered ground plane, while a tiled rill and lava-stone water wall introduce quiet movement and the gentle sound of falling water.
The original tile-hung outbuilding is treated as a found object — its arched window left to frame the planting beyond. Salvaged oak sleepers form raised beds of grasses, salvias and geums that soften the masonry, while a cast iron dining set offers a single, considered place to sit and linger.
